Sue and Dave Dicks feel like all their Christmases have come at once! The couple swapped the pace and noise of a London suburb for a relaxing lifestyle on the south coast, having bought a three-bedroom detached home at Pennyfarthing Homes’ Potters Wood development in Verwood.
Dave, 59, who took early retirement from life in the fast lane as an AA Patrol man for over 34 years, is now enjoying a different mode of transport – cycling around the town and surrounding countryside.
Sue, semi-retired at 56, worked for a cargo company at Heathrow Airport, is also enjoying the much slower pace, and being able to park the cars off the road, in their own spaces, which is just one of the many benefits of buying on this development.
The journey from West London to the south coast took nearly two years but was worth the wait and effort as Sue explains.
“After over three decades of doing demanding jobs and living near Heathrow on a busy road, we were ready for a change of pace. My parents moved to Barton on Sea several years ago and recommended we look at a Pennyfarthing development. We found information online about Potters Wood in Verwood which is in an area we liked.
“We visited the show home on phase one and instantly fell in love with the development and the style of houses. It was the best of both worlds. We wanted to be close to my parents in the New Forest and live in an area where it wasn’t full of tourists in the summer!”
Dave added: “We have to pinch ourselves every day that it all worked out and we are now living in a lovely home on the south coast. We absolutely love our house – it has everything we wanted.”
Sue added: “Theres something very special about a new build. We reserved a Denbury off plan without setting foot in it. I always wanted a kitchen/diner and it’s amazing. We have an ideal sized garden which is perfect for us. The whole house is well appointed, nicely laid out and beautifully designed.
“We cannot fault the customer service and the whole buying experience from Pennyfarthing who have lived up to their reputation. We are now enjoying a much quieter lifestyle which suits us just fine.”
