Pennyfarthing Homes is delighted to announce its collaboration with 1st Fordingbridge Scout Group, providing a much-needed contribution to support the improvements of their facilities in their HQ by creating an accessible toilet and wet room. This partnership builds on Pennyfarthing Homes’ commitment to enriching the local community, following a £4,000 donation to the Fordingbridge Infant and Junior School earlier this year to fund various school projects.
The Scouts provide young people from the age of 4 to 18 years with opportunities to develop essential life skills through adventure, teamwork, and personal development. The financial contribution has helped to ensure that the 1st Fordingbridge Scouts can continue delivering invaluable experiences to local young people from their HQ in the heart of the town. By creating an accessible toilet and wet room, the Scout Group, with the help of Pennyfarthing Homes, are making their facilities more inclusive and welcoming to everyone in the community, regardless of physical ability. This enhancement will ensure that no young person is excluded from accessing the opportunities for growth, learning, and adventure that the Scout Group provides.
Shirley Brookes, Group Lead Volunteer of 1st Fordingbridge Scouts, expressed gratitude for the sponsorship, saying: “We are incredibly grateful to Pennyfarthing Homes for their support. This contribution, along with others we have received from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund which is delivered locally by New Forest District Council, from Fordingbridge Town Council and from the Rotary Club of Fordingbridge, makes a huge difference in ensuring that our facilities are accessible to all, allowing every young person in our Scout Group the chance to participate in the activities and adventures we offer.”
Pennyfarthing Homes Managing Director Matt Dukes commented: “We are thrilled to have been able to support the 1st Fordingbridge Scout Group and giving them funding to help with this important project. At Pennyfarthing Homes, we are focused on giving back to the local community, and this contribution will ensure that all young people, regardless of ability, can fully enjoy the wonderful opportunities that the Scouts offer. The Scouts are passionate about fostering community spirit, and we are proud to play a role in helping them enhance their facilities to achieve this.”
